Adam Rippon (born November 11, 1989, in Scranton, Pennsylvania) is an American figure skater. He is the first junior world champion to successfully defend his title, which he won in 2008 and 2009. His original coach was Jelena Sergeyevna. In 2007, he switched to Nikolai Morozov, and in 2008, he began training with Brian Orser. Adam Rippon represents the Skating Club of New York. Due to the withdrawals of Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir, Rippon competed in his first senior World Championships in 2010 in Turin, where he finished sixth.
