Adam Richard Sandler (September 9, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York City, New York) is an American actor, comedian, producer, composer, voice actor, and screenwriter. From 1987 to 1988, Adam Sandler played the role of Smitty on The Cosby Show. He was also a performer on the MTV game show Remote Control, where he appeared as Trivia Delinquent and Stud Boy, among others. After spontaneously stepping onto the stage at a club in Boston, Sandler began performing regularly in comedy clubs. He was discovered by comedian Dennis Miller during a performance in Los Angeles, who then recommended him to Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels.
