Product details

Please note that the content of this book mainly consists of articles that are available online from Wikipedia or other free sources. Addison is a city in Dallas County in the U.S. state of Texas and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The city is located in the northeastern part of Texas, about 80 km south of Oklahoma, and has a total area of 11.5 km², with no significant water area. The land on which the present-day city of Addison stands was settled as early as 1846 by Preston Witt, who built a house near White Rock Creek. In 1902, the settlement was named Addison, after Addison Robertson, who served as postmaster from 1908 to 1916. The first industrial processing of cotton took place in 1902. Addison was incorporated as a city on June 15, 1953, and in 1982, the name was officially changed to Town of Addison.
