The Adelaide serial killer refers to the hypothetical serial murderer or lone perpetrator associated with two series of murders in Adelaide. On one hand, between 1976 and 1979, seven women fell victim to a sexual murderer; on the other hand, between 1979 and 1983, five young men were killed. All male victims were mutilated in the genital area, and some were carefully washed and redressed after their deaths. One of these murders could be linked to a member of a group that called itself the Family, modeled after the group led by Charles Manson, which had been rumored to be involved in the abduction of young men.
