Adeline Genée (January 6, 1878, in Århus, Denmark; April 23, 1970, in London, England; born Anna (Anita) Kirstina Margarete Petra Jensen) was a Danish ballet dancer. One of her standout roles was Coppélia by Léo Delibes. At the age of three, Anita Jensen began taking dance lessons from her uncle Alexandre Genée. At eight, she was adopted by her uncle and his wife Antonia Zimmermann. They changed her last name to Genée and her first name to Adeline in honor of the Italian opera star Adelina Patti.
