Product details

Adem (Shaban) Jashari (November 28, 1955, in Prekaz, Drenica, Yugoslavia, now Kosovo; March 6, 1998, Prekaz) was a co-founder and leader of the UÇK (Kosovo Liberation Army). Jashari attended primary and secondary school with a technical focus in his hometown and later in Srbica. The Jashari family home early on became a center for the emerging UÇK, and Jashari himself became one of its organizers in the Drenica region. He and his brother Hamëz Jashari were often seen as role models by UÇK soldiers. By the mid-1990s, the Jashari brothers were known in the Drenica area for their resistance against the Serbian-dominated police forces. They attacked police stations and Serbian paramilitaries multiple times, who were already active before the Kosovo War.
