Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a rare malignant tumor that originates from glandular tissues and primarily occurs in the head and neck region. The most common site of manifestation is the salivary glands (parotid gland, submandibular gland, small oral salivary glands). Additionally, the tumor can be observed in many other locations, such as the lacrimal gland, nose and paranasal sinuses, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs, skin, breast, external auditory canal, cervix, Bartholin's gland, or prostate. Characteristic of adenoid cystic carcinoma is initially slow growth; however, the tumor shows a pronounced tendency to infiltrate surrounding tissue, making it often impossible to remove completely.
