Adhémar Schwitzguébel (born 1844 in Sonvilier; died July 23, 1895, in Biel) was a Swiss anarchist and theorist of collectivist anarchism. He was a co-founder of the Jura Federation and a member of the First International. Adhémar Schwitzguébel was born in the Swiss Jura. His father was an engraver and participated in the political struggles of 1848. Adhémar Schwitzguébel also learned his father's trade and founded a section of the First International in Sonvilier in March 1866. He met Mikhail Bakunin and later became a member of his organization, the Alliance. After the failure of the Paris Commune, he went to Paris to help some Communards escape with false passports. He was influenced by the conflict between Marx and Bakunin.
