Adolf Born (June 12, 1930, in České Velenice) is a Czech cartoonist and graphic artist. To date, he has illustrated around 250 books and contributed to approximately 70 animated films and series. He has received awards for animation, cartoons, graphics, and book illustrations in Italy, France, Spain, Finland, Belgium, West Germany, East Germany, Turkey, and Iran under Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, as well as in Canada and Australia. In Germany, he is known for his regular participation in the Oberhausen Short Film Festival and for exhibitions in Berlin, Stuttgart, Baden-Baden, Munich, Hanover, and Constance. Since the Velvet Revolution of 1989, he has repeatedly received commissions from the Czech Post for stamp designs. Adolf Born lives and works in the south of the country.
