Adolf Heinrich Ebeling (October 24, 1827, in Hamburg; July 20, 1896, in Cologne) was a German writer. Ebeling, whose mother was Brazilian, studied philosophy in Heidelberg, where he published a volume of poetry in 1845. After his studies, he spent some time with relatives in Bahia, Brazil, and upon his return, he worked as a teacher in Schönberg (Mecklenburg). In 1851, he moved to Paris, where he became a member of the university and a professor at the imperial commercial academy in 1862.
