Adolf Exner (February 5, 1841, in Prague; September 10, 1894, in Kufstein, Tyrol) was an Austrian lawyer and law professor. Adolf was the eldest son of Franz Serafin Exner and Charlotte Dusensy. He had three brothers named Karl Exner, Sigmund Exner, and Franz-Serafin Exner, as well as a sister, Marie von Frisch. After graduating from the Theresianum in Vienna, he studied law in Vienna and completed a scholarship (1863-64) in Leipzig, Heidelberg, and Berlin. Upon his return to Vienna, he habilitated in 1866 for Roman Law and received a call as a full professor at the University of Zurich in 1868 at the age of 27.
