The essays in this volume propose a new interpretation of Adorno's philosophy. Together, they highlight the positive core of his negative thinking. This normative core lies in a theory of contemplative attention that is as original as it is idiosyncratic, where motifs from theoretical philosophy, moral theory, and aesthetics are closely intertwined. The significance of the "long, contemplative gaze, through which humans and things unfold," as stated in the Minima Moralia, is illuminated through exemplary studies.
