The present anthology presents in detail the diverse results of the transdisciplinary research project "The Portrait of a Disabled Man." It is divided into two main thematic areas: The first part connects the description of the participatory research method with contributions that focus on current representations of disabled people or the perspectives on them, written from the viewpoint of women and men with disabilities. The second part extensively addresses the interdisciplinary interpretation of three selected historical representations of disabled individuals.
