Solidarity economy has many faces. It encompasses ideas and concepts of an economy that is not focused on profit generation but rather on fulfilling human needs. The guide provides insights into various current approaches such as cooperatives, social economy, social business, commons, feminist economics and care, degrowth, and others. Critical perspectives are also included. Both potentials and limitations are identified, as well as the appropriation of idealistic goals for commercial or politically questionable purposes.
