Product details

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716) is considered one of the most versatile and brilliant minds in human history. He was not only the founder of computer language, not only the inventor of mining conveyor systems and calculating machines, not only a diplomat, church politician, science reformer, and librarian, not only a lawyer, mathematician, historian, linguist, and theologian; he was particularly a philosopher who sought to harmonize the causal-mechanical explanation of the natural sciences with the fundamental assumptions of classical metaphysics. To this end, he proposed a new metaphysical hypothesis that interprets all of nature as a society of monads that exist in pre-established harmony with one another and with their bodies, even though they have no windows. For those philosophically interested who are looking for an introduction to this fascinating system, the Zuga is recommended.
