In late summer 1973, Dr. phil. Peter Albisser shoots Constantin Zerutt, with whom he had been in conversation since 1969, seriously injuring him. During the interrogation the next day, Albisser confesses to having shot Zerutt without provocation. Zerutt is a witness who does not meet the court's expectations at all. When he does speak, he tells stories about himself and about Albisser. The questions and inquiries of the investigating judges serve as the narrative impetus: the search for the motive.
