The Thoth Tarot was painted by the artist Lady Frieda Harris (1877-1962) under the guidance of the famous occultist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947). Although Lady Harris knew very little about Tarot and its symbolism, she transferred all the subtleties into the paintings with great sensitivity. Numerous cards were painted in several versions until they finally met with Crowley's approval.In 1986 the Crowley Thoth Tarot was published for the first time in German. Subsequently there were several special editions in different formats. For this current new edition, checks and slight corrections have again been made to the image data in order to establish the fidelity of the original paintings as best as possible. In addition, some card names of the German translation have been corrected and the booklet has been revised and expanded.In order to adapt the worldwide known and popular deck to modern visual habits, it appears with a newly designed cover.The THOTH TAROT by Frieda Harris and Aleister Crowley is, next to the Tarot by A.E. Waite, the most important deck.
