In November 2015, Luc Bondy passed away at the age of 67. The director, artistic director, and writer was among the best theater and opera directors in international theater since the 1970s. The book, edited by his long-time collaborator Geoffrey Layton, provides an impression of the richness and diversity of his work—on one hand, the international theater career reflected through the eyes of his colleagues, friends, and companions, and on the other hand, the introspections of a writer and the creative chaos from which his productions emerged. It includes previously unpublished texts by Luc Bondy, Patrice Chéreau, Bruno Ganz, Peter Handke, Jens Harzer, Yasmina Reza, and many others; numerous photographs by Ruth Walz and designs by Moidele Bickel, Richard Peduzzi, and Erich Wonder.
