Hans Albert engages with the writings of the theologian Hans Küng, particularly his critique of atheism and critical rationalism, as well as the thesis that Christian belief in God can be rationally justified. It becomes clear that Küng's arguments are burdened with significant misunderstandings and are based on serious errors. As Hans Albert demonstrates, Küng's lines of thought are typical of theological thinking in general and reveal the weaknesses of this entire discipline: the "misery of theology." For the new edition, the author has added an additional chapter that thoroughly discusses Küng as a "religious cosmologist.".
