While the first volume of the series, Religion, summarized the fundamental and general criticism of religion, Alfred Binder now focuses more on specific questions and issues related to the monotheistic, "Abrahamic" religions. Binder puts the truth claims of monotheistic religions to the test, examines their fantastical assertions, and explains why these still resonate with many people and even lead some into psychological dependencies. The volume also makes it clear: Intolerance has been and continues to be ingrained in the foundation of these religions.
