Since autumn 2015, when numerous refugees arrived in Germany, the country has fundamentally changed. Many perceive the migration movement as a turning point, the consequences of which are still far from clear. To understand what has actually happened in recent months, Tuvia Tenenbom has once again traveled across the republic. He wanted to know the true reasons behind the welcoming culture, why Germany has shown a big heart but still lacks a plan, and how freedom of expression is faring here. He posed uncomfortable questions to his conversation partners—be they Gregor Gysi, Volker Beck, or Cardinal Reinhard Marx, Frauke Petry from the AfD, Pegida founder Lutz Bachmann, or the intellectual leader of the new right, Götz Kubitschek, as well as Akif Pirinçci or Jürgen Todenhöfer.
