In April 2013, the author, completely inexperienced but full of enthusiasm, embarks on the adventure of the Camino de Santiago. The only route she considers is the Camino de la Costa and the Camino del Norte in Spain. Her journey takes her through the Basque Country, Cantabria, the Principality of Asturias, and Galicia. What she does not anticipate at the start in San Sebastian is that a series of unfortunate circumstances will force her to abandon her project after twenty-five days in Aviles. A year later, in the spring of 2014, Karin W. sets out again for Spain to continue her pilgrimage—and to happily complete it in Santiago de Compostela. This time, she carries not only weather-independent gear but also the determination to avoid the mistakes of the previous year. The journey is blessed this time, and the weather conditions are favorable.
