Product details
In his most poignant and well-known work "Diary of a Despairing Man," Friedrich Reck-Malleczewen unconditionally confronts the National Socialist regime in Germany. As early as 1935, the writer, born in East Prussia, recognizes the barbarity and inhumanity of Hitler's politics. He denounces both the domestic and foreign political passivity towards Nazism and predicts with hatred the inevitable downfall of Hitler's Germany. Ironically, it is he, a reactionary conservative German nationalist throughout his life, to whom we owe a contemporary account that exposes and condemns the enormity of the National Socialist regime with unprecedented clarity. Friedrich Reck-Malleczewen died in February 1945 in the Dachau concentration camp.
