The research project has confirmed, particularly through discussions with university representatives, that high-quality teaching and research require a sufficient amount of high-quality space. One goal of the research work is to develop models for the allocation and management of space resources in universities. Based on representations and experiences from companies, other areas of public administration, and research institutions regarding space management, potential management procedures for universities were examined. A management model for universities was developed that responds to both internal university conditions and external influencing factors. The internal allocation of space within the university is significantly influenced by external conditions as well as by internal processes, workflows, and structures.
