The title of this collection of poems, "variatio delectat," consciously challenges the spirit of the times: the author remains undisturbed in holding on to an unaltered concept of poetry, free from politics, eroticism, social themes, humor, experimentation, zero hour, and post-art. He positions himself in opposition to what is promoted or condemned by the literary establishment, simply adhering to what is at the core of lyrical poetry: the expression of being affected by reality and being aware of what is contained within it. 'Allgesang' refers to the 'God-world-all' (Heine), while 'Gesang' denotes the unbetrayed manner of poetic expression. The countless still free individuals among the readership of poetry are addressed.
