The metal sculptor Alois Dubach is a designer. He belongs to the generation of Swiss sculptors who have deconstructed the sculpture of classical modernism since the 1960s. Additionally, he constructs his geometric metal objects like industrial products. These works, mostly designed for outdoor spaces, allow him to rethink and redefine the relationship between artifact and space. After the monumental corten sculptures of the 1980s, Dubach turned to filiform forms starting in 1993, which he subsequently refers to as sculpture-drawings. However, these often also include large-scale works, such as the approximately six-meter-high double sculpture he created in 2008 for the Sculpture Triennale in Bex. Following participation in numerous national sculpture exhibitions, Alois Dubach increasingly turned to drawing after a stay in Berlin.
