Society, specifically politicians and media professionals, have discovered aging. The problem: For forty years, birth rates in Germany have been declining and remain at such a low level that the population's sustainability is at risk. The ratio of contributors to beneficiaries is becoming unbalanced. The book aims to inform about the causes and consequences of aging - both for individuals and society - covering life situations, physical and mental decline, and the possibilities for successful aging, as well as the conditions of dying and dealing with death.
