The Old Testament is full of stories that describe the path of humanity with God. It tells of Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac, of Jacob and Esau, of Joseph and his brothers, of Moses and Miriam, of Ruth and David, as well as Jonah. Here, one can also find texts such as the Ten Commandments and Psalms that reflect on rules and hope. None of the great narratives of the Old Testament follows a straight path; the ups and downs of life are always felt, in which God meets us. Therefore, these stories are particularly capable of showing children that God is with people, no matter who they are and how hopeless their situation may seem. The idea that God accompanies, liberates, and gives hope encourages reflection on God and the world and can provide impulses for one's own life today.
