The question of the nature of the human self is one of the most important and at the same time one of the most difficult to answer. The essence of the self is as complex and diverse as the entire cosmos to which humanity and its evolution belong. This study can therefore only address a few essential aspects of the topic. In three major panoramas, the author first develops the tripartite essence of the human self, then illuminates the cosmic dimension of the self, and finally focuses on the significance of the earthly self.
