Chief Inspector Jo Lasker is the head of the operations and investigation unit of the Frankfurt police. The clearance rate of the EFKO is exceptionally high. For a long time, there have been rumors that the members of the unit do not adhere strictly to the law, although all internal investigations into this have come to nothing. The new leadership at the presidium sees Lasker's department as a thorn in their side and plans to restructure it. During a final operation, the police are searching for a suspect believed to have committed a double murder. What initially appears to be a gruesome routine turns into a boundary experience for all involved, where it is completely unclear who will be left at the end to report on it.
