Since winning the Oscar a few years ago, everything has gone wrong in Grant McCarthy's life. A writer's block has ended his successful career as a screenwriter, and the woman he loves has become engaged to someone else. Grant turns his back on Hollywood and returns to Gansett Island to help his brother run the family business, "McCarthy's Gansett Inn." Although Grant dreams of winning back his great love Abby, he can't stop thinking about Stephanie, who runs the restaurant at the hotel's marina. However, Stephanie is hiding a secret from her past. As Hurricane Hailey cuts Gansett Island off from the mainland, Grant must make a decision: Is it more important for him to win Abby back, or does he want to help Stephanie make amends for a terrible wrong?.
