The smart Swabian emergency physician Dr. Benny Brandstätter is driven back to Stuttgart after his adventurous time in Costa Rica - with his nine-time smart son Tobi in tow. In his old home country he meets lovable acquaintances such as guitarist Dobro, his ex-colleague Fatima and of course Mrs. Winterberg, the weird landlady. The new position in a general medical practice and the services in the emergency ambulance again bring bizarre patient stories with them. The single father would no longer be himself, if encounters with the ladies did not cause turbulence. A Trio Infernale plunges him into emotional chaos. Fortunately, his pragmatic offspring has already made a decision.
