Berlin, June 1953. A male corpse is discovered in the water near Schloss Bellevue. Shortly thereafter, the grave of the recently buried businessman Hans-Hinrich von Oertzen is desecrated in a macabre manner. Is it all just a coincidence? Far from it. Chief Inspector Tom Sydow uncovers that the two men were members of a top-secret SS special unit, whose task just before the end of the war was to secure the legendary Amber Room from the advancing Red Army.
