A small sign only, a gesture from a young girl, and Thomas enters a house on the other side of the street. Was it really a sign? Was it truly meant for him? Who was this girl whose gesture invited him into a house that was hardly definable as being inhabited by a tenant, an employee, or a prisoner, a sick person or a representative of the law? In search of the girl and relying on unreliable signs and uncertain intentions, Thomas seems to increasingly lose himself to the law of the house, a law whose text no one knows in its entirety and which may manifest in its embodiments, the supposed places of power, whether they be hospital rooms, interrogation rooms, or the offices of an elusive justice, and in its representatives, the guards and officials, without initially revealing more than a glimpse.
