The Roman patrician Vinicius loves the king's daughter Lygia, who adheres to the new Christian faith. With thorough detail and linguistic power, Sienkiewicz depicted a love story in ancient Rome in 'Quo vadis?'. For his novel, he received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1905.
