Anarchism seems to render feminist demands unnecessary due to its rejection of any form of authority. Nevertheless, anarchist women such as Emma Goldman and the Spanish Mujeres Libres explicitly articulated feminist demands, confronting their male counterparts with them. In the 1970s, Peggy Kornegger emerged in the USA with a distinctly anarcho-feminist theory aimed at combining the liberating elements of anarchism and feminism.
