The theory and history of the anarcho-syndicalist labor movement are fundamentally rooted in about 150 years of human history and are closely linked to the age of industrialization. The movement took shape in many countries at different times and under very different conditions. Nevertheless, its rich experiences can be compiled and presented in a concise form. This work highlights the continuities, breaks, and compromises of this labor movement, which will hold significance for future generations of libertarian-socialist trade unionists. The task of this introduction is to outline and clarify an anatomy and a historically representative image of anarcho-syndicalism in broad strokes.
