Product details
Crane Clarence Brinton (1898-1968) studied history at Harvard, earned his doctorate at Oxford, and taught at Harvard from 1942 until his death. "The Anatomy of Revolutions" became his most famous work and earned him membership in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The analysis of the similarities among the English (1640), American, French, and Russian revolutions, written in a precise and elegant style and supported by profound knowledge of sources, makes the book a classic foundational work, which is presented here in the revised edition of the final version. The editor Manfred Lauermann, a social scientist and historian of ideas, has taught at the universities of Bochum, Dresden, Bielefeld, and as a DAAD professor in Brazil; he is a member of the Historical Commission of the Left Party. He has translated the out-of-print version by Walt.
