Gütersloh in winter 2013, Tuesday night. Victoria Lirot leaves the house in a hurry, dressed only in her pajamas and a coat. It is cool, but the young woman chooses the scooter and leaves the car behind. An hour later, she is dead, brutally murdered. What was Mrs. Lirot fleeing from, or what was she planning? The following day, a car accident occurs between Gütersloh and Wiedenbrück. The district police authority investigates, and Commissioner Sarah Berger and her new partner Ahmet Yilmaz take on the case.
