Introduction to the book series "Microstates": With the intended unification of Europe, many residents of the European region have also associated hopes for a fairer distribution of generated wealth, easier border crossings, and environmental protection. However, due to the events of recent years, much of what has been promised by governments, often before upcoming elections, is now being called into question. The fact that, despite the development of power and economy, there are still countries in Europe that successfully resist appropriation is almost a phenomenon given the current facts. Yet they do exist: states where there is no military and almost no crime, countries that do not have income, inheritance, or capital taxes, where the value-added tax is below 5%, and so on.
