Product details

Andrew Sachs (April 7, 1930, in Berlin) was a German-British actor. Sachs was born in Berlin as Andreas Siegfried Sachs. His family moved to England when he was eight years old to escape the Nazi persecution of Jews. Sachs is best known for his role as Manuel, the Spanish waiter in the sitcom Fawlty Towers (1975 and 1979), and he is now occasionally heard as a narrator for television and radio documentaries as well as audiobooks. He is married to Melody Lang, who appeared as Mrs. Taylor in an episode of Fawlty Towers titled Basil the Rat. His stepson is John Sachs, a former Capital Radio DJ and commentator for Gladiators. Andrew's brother Thomas Sachs currently lives in Toronto. From 1984 to 1986, Sachs played Father Brown in a BBC Radio series based on the stories by Gilbert Keith Chesterton.
