She is a philosopher, scientist, and writer - but above all, Angela Davis is perhaps the most well-known activist of the American Black Power movement. Her fight for the rights of primarily Black political prisoners in the U.S. made her a symbolic figure in the early 1970s. From 1970 to 1972, she was imprisoned.
