Product details

The S(h)urangama Sutra ("Sutra of the Heroic") is only available in Chinese and has become a key text of the Zen school. It explains the various methods of emptiness meditation through which anyone—whether monk or layperson—can achieve enlightenment and become a Bodhisattva. This translation is by Dr. Muralt and has been reissued with the consent of his heirs due to the increasing demand among Buddhists in Germany. It is currently the only translation of this sutra available through bookstores.
