Product details
Ann Smyrner, originally Hanne Smyrner (November 3, 1934, in Frederiksberg, Denmark), is a Danish film actress who primarily appeared in German-Austrian and Italian feature films. Her father was Poul Smyrner (1899-1978), one of the leading actors at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, and her mother was a concert singer. She attended the acting school of the theatre in Århus from 1955 to 1956, where she made her debut as Gulnare in the fairy tale drama Aladin by Danish poet Adam Oehlenschläger. At the age of 21, she received the Theatre Award of Århus. Ann Smyrner moved to Munich at the age of 22 and was selected for her first role in Paul Verhoeven's comedy Loved by All alongside Magda Schneider, Johannes Heesters, and Chariklia Baxevanos in 1958, despite speaking little German at the time.
