In 2003, Ross participated in the third season of the casting show Popstars. Ross did not make it to the second round in her first audition in Cologne and subsequently attended the audition in Hamburg, where she advanced to the final show. Originally, the Preluders, who lost to their male competitors Overground in the Popstars final, were supposed to perform as a group of four. However, Ross was added by the producers later on.
