When does ice melt? Does sand dissolve in water? Which substances conduct heat? Your students will explore exciting questions like these in the NAWI Research Notebook: Exploring Substances. They will take on the role of a chemist or physicist and investigate essential material properties through five simple experiments. Afterwards, two physics and two chemistry experts will work together on exercises related to the investigated material properties. Special attention is given to the language-sensitive presentation of the subject matter; at the same time, students' skills in teamwork and communication are strengthened. There are help and solution cards for all experiments. The notebook concludes with a test.
