Product details

In the context of the chemical and general process industry, the high-pressure industry occupies a significant place, which was further solidified during World War II and the subsequent reconstruction period. High-pressure technology has created important prerequisites for the development of devices and fittings for nuclear physics, from which rocket and space technology has derived significant benefits. Today's knowledge of high-pressure apparatus construction is the result of collaborative developments involving engineers, physicists, metallurgists, and, not least, chemists. Historically, high-pressure synthesis began with the first large plants at BASF in Ludwigshafen and Oppau, where the remarkable technical achievements in this field were recognized with the awarding of the Nobel Prize.
