Product details

The book "Applied Magnetism" is based on the contributions from a course held as part of the 25th course of the International School of Materials Science and Technology. This course was conducted as a NATO Advanced Study Institute at the Ettore Majorana Centre in Erice, Sicily, Italy, from July 1 to 12, 1992, and attracted nearly 70 participants from 15 different countries. The work addresses the theory, experiments, and applications of the key areas of applied magnetism. Topics covered include the physics of magnetic recording, magnetic and magneto-optical recording devices, magnetic fine materials, magnetic separation, as well as permanent magnets and magnetoresistance. The content is divided into ten standalone chapters, which together provide a comprehensive coverage of the subject. The aim is to emphasize the connection between fundamental theoretical concepts, important experiments, and technological developments in this field. Additionally, where possible, indications of future trends are provided to promote the advancement of research.
