The ongoing integration of the disciplines of mechanics, fluid technology, electronics, and information technology has significantly increased the complexity of fluid-mechatronic systems in recent years. Correspondingly, the challenges in system development have also risen. This is reflected in a higher number of deficiencies during development and an unreliability of the systems created. As the increasing interdisciplinarity opens up new possibilities for both realizable functions and the miniaturization of components, a clear distinction between individual disciplines is no longer feasible. The potential that arises can only be harnessed through a cross-disciplinary development approach. Therefore, it is of great importance to expand existing development methods through a consistent interdisciplinary mindset.
