Product details
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a management approach aimed at the integrated design of the organizational structure and processes within a company. The focus of this approach is on the collaborative design of business processes and efficient IT systems. The goal is to support planning orientation within the company or to significantly improve planning outcomes. With this integrative approach, a comprehensive perspective of the company is adopted. The focus is not only on the company itself but also on suppliers and customers. In the past, PLM projects were understood and implemented merely as IT projects. It is therefore not surprising that only about one-third of all PLM projects have been successful. The integrative approach particularly requires collaboration among the various stakeholders.
